Daily report from Latakia on Monday 14/11/2011
One
demo could go out today near Al-Jaami'a book store in Slaybeh welcoming
the Arab League and calling for the regime's fall, and was soon met
with security spreading in the area and municipality cars and members
cleaning up streets from paper clipping thrown by the demonstrators.
Fully
armed thugs with their three cars stood before the Fine Arts school to
prevent any possible demo by the students. And in Moujamma Al-Banat
girl's school, one of its sections was closed for having writings on the
walls opposing the regime and the school's principal.
Assad
thugs replaced sand barriers today with ready made rooms for the
winter, and on Ain Tamra and Ain Samkeh intersections they also used
cement rooms while using tents in other intersections.
We've also learned that today morning a shipment of military tanks were moved from Latakia port to unknown destinations.
Raids
and arrests continued, as Souq Al-Dayeh in ashrafiyeh was raided today.
Electricity is being cut off normally at the time of raids as 9 were
arrested today in Al-Raml Al-Janoobi as well as 30 men yesterday, while
it was reported that taxis are participating in these arrests. Security
and thugs spread heavily in Al-Raml, and some roamed around in Skantoori
shouting for Assad and threatening people of the area that when this is
all over they will be punished.
Huge explosion could be heard in Qnainas, which is becoming a normal thing nowadays.
12
men were killed in Ghuneimiyeh village by Assad thugs, they were from
Latakia and they had fled the violence in Al-Raml few months back.
In
Haffeh: Ahmad Mustafa Adeeb school in Babanna village was broken into
today to remove anti regime writings on its walls, and luckily no one
was arrested.
Finally, we received news from someone in
the customs department in latakia's port that in few days the borders
with Turkey will be closed off completely.
