report from Latakia on Monday 18 June 2012
Last night
heavy shelling continued on many villages in Kurds Mountains using tanks and
rocket launchers. Some of the villages subjected to shelling by mortar were
Dourine, Salma, and Kafr-Delba and many missiles fell on houses.
Many locals
from Wadi Basour left their village after five rockets fell in the area
damaging one house and one rocket fell near the mosque where people took
refuge.
Abdul-Hadi
Shakush died on the hands of Assad gangs in Haffeh after being ambushed near
Shakuhi house. Ashraf Abdul-Latif Bitar from Haffeh was arrested yesterday on
al-Qos barrier, but he was later released.
According to
Syria Students Union Mustafa al-Haj Amin who’s a third year student in
Chemistry Faculty died on the hands of Assad gangs in Idleb. Army security also
arrested forth-year student in Philosophy Faculty Khansaa Muhammad Nammura as
she stepped out of the bus going to her university and was released later.
Regime raided
and arrested many in Palestinian Camp in al-Raml al-Janoobi.
16 year-old Muhammad Zain al-abdeen was arrested by members
in civilian dress and in civilian cars after his place got raided early in the
morning in MarTaqla and was taken to an unknown place; he’s a student in shukri
Hakim School.
Security was again heavy in many areas of the city such as
Slaybeh, Mashrou’ al-Slaybeh, Aamud, and al-Raml and many patrols roamed around
these areas.
Last night a demo took place in Skantoori, and later an
explosion and gunfire were heard in al-Raml near Talaa Camp, as well as three
other explosions heard in the city.
