The brutality of the regime continues in Latakia’s villages;
today the mosque in Salma was targeted with rocket at dawn prayers time. Later
many fell wounded to rockets fired from helicopters at Salma and other
villages, before shelling was renewed again on Salma and Dourine and nearby
towns using tanks, planes, and machine-guns.
A big fire broke in the woods in Rabiah area, and more army
reinforcements and mortar were brought to Beit-Ewan village in Rabiah area and
to Beit-Hlebiyeh village in Mashqeeta area.
Last night shelling was heavy as many rockets fell on houses
in Salma and nearby Dourine. Shelling was also heavy on Turkman Mountains as
Baidha village near Rabiah using rocket launchers and heavy artillery, and many
locals were seen migrating to al-Yamama village on the Turkish border.
26 year-old Basel Ali Shamdeen from FSA passed away this
morning near Dourine after violent clashes with regime’s army. 18 year-old
Muhammad Misto from Oweineh died under torture in Palestine Branch.
Colonel Bassam al-Fateh defected joining FSA, and was secured
a safe passage into Turkey. He was in command of what is called the Popular
Army branch in Haffeh.
In Bkas viilage near Haffeh 3 tombs were opened and bodies of
martyrs were taken away by regime men.
Last night gunfire was heard in al-Raml from Shaleihat side,
and then again from Talaa side.
At night there was a demo in Iskan Street in Slaybeh which
ended with security raiding the area, but the protesters gathered again near
Fattahi Mosque with another demo. In Izzi zrea in Jableh security presence was
heavy to prevent any protests from happening.
