As days go by, the
fact that Syria will never be back to what it was before is more and more
concrete, and freedom seems ever nearer.
A swift demo took
place today in Mashrou’s Al-Slaybeh calling for the downfall of the regime, as
it continued towards Tabiyat and broke before security managed to get there.
And a similar demo was dispersed by security at night in Oweineh.
An anonymous threw
paper clippings in the street near Ammar pastry with writings on them promoting
for the strike and calling Syrians for unity.
A huge explosion was
heard in Upper Qnainas today, as well as gunfire. People of the area chanted as
power was finally back on. Another explosion took place last night in Al-Raml.
A big explosion also shook
Slaybeh near Triumph Arch.
Power was off for long
periods of about six hours at both noon and night in many parts of the city
today, and it was accompanied in Shaikh Daher with security presence and raids,
and gunfire was heard during one of these raids. Meanwhile, people praised the
Lord aloud during the blackout!
Firas Muhammad
Khweled, a 20 year old, was arrested randomly a couple of days ago along with
two of his friends under his place in Al-Iskan Street near Al-Batta building,
and similarly, yesterday, 21 years old Hassan Muhammad Fattahi got arrested in
Slaybeh. Also arrested on Wednesday was 25 years old Mustafa Ojail in Mashrou’s
Al-Slaybeh, we mention that he was released just 20 days ago.
Heavy security was
present today on city’s entries at Al-Yahoudieh and the University round-about
, as well as on the entries of the university itself, while a fully armed
patrol was near Al-Joud factory stopping cars randomly, with a police patrol at
the round-about doing the same.

Latakia, Thusrday
15/12/2011, Southern area near Friday Market, Details of the arrest of a young
man on a barrier in that area told by him:
“I was going to Jisr
Al-Shughour city, using public transportation, to get a postponing on my
military service for being a college student, and I was carrying the needed
documents. We got stopped at a barrier, and a security members searched everyone
and everything, and when he saw my military service papers he freaked out and asked
me rather abusively to step out saying: “You are a defected soldier, aren’t
you?” , he would then take me to a readymade room near the barrier where I was
left for two hours, after that a soldier took me to a Colonel’s office who took
my mobile and kept searching it carefully, before he rained me with angry and
aggressive question trying to frighten me, and three hours of interrogation
later he asked the soldier to let go of me and gave me my mobile back, but as
soon as we were outside the office, the soldier said to me: “I won’t release
you until you give all the money you have”. I had 2000 SP on me, and so I gave
him 1500 and kept the other 500 after beginning him…
