A demonstration called for Homs and
Rankoos in Al-Tujjar market place near Al-Jami'a bookstore. A student protest
took to the streets gathering students of Moujamma Al-Banat and other schools
in Mashrou' Al-Slaybeh, while security attacked it, a security member was later
positioned at the entrance inside the school, while other members in their
uniforms assumed positions in all floors and corridors, and two cameras were
placed in two of these corridors.
Girls of Al Baath school went out on
a demo today which lasted four about half an hour before security came to the
scene, but the demo ended luckily with no one being arrested.
Speaking of arrests, they continue
to happen, as many students were arrested in today's protests near Nursing
school. Slaybeh was raided near Al-Batta building, while few days back we
reported that many army officers were arrested when invited to a meeting in the
Navy Faculty, and we've learned that one of whom is Captain Maher Qanbar, a man
in his 40s and a father of two boys and a girl.
Also arrested in Al-Raml:
- Abdo Khodra, 40 years old.
- Ibrahim Khaled Kabuleh, 30 years old.
- Muhammad Mustafa Daoud, 18 years old.
Security also raided the home of
Adnan Wali and was shot in the back while attempting to flee, but he managed to
escape anyway.
Security presence could be summed up
as following: Fully armed 30 members took hold of Slaybeh along with two
four-wheelers and two cars under Al-Batta building, cars headed from there
towards Tabiyat and Sidawi, and 7 other cars were positioned on Slaybeh cross
road with three heading towards Owieneh, while two fully armed cars roamed along
Maisaloon road and Abi Tammam park. Three ready made cement room and a wooden
one were positioned in Ugharit square, along with 40 armed members and two
four-wheelers and a security bus.
In other news and while water was to
be cut off for two days for maintenance, water company threatened few citizens
of removing them from the service, in an unjustified move given they're paying
the bills.
A huge explosion was heard in
Mashrou' Al-Slaybeh followed by ambulances rushing in, and in Slaybeh shop
closed amid great panic.
We mention that the so called Wisam
Al-Raheb from Latakia is known to be undertaking assignments to go to Germany
where his parents currently live and film Syrian protesting there against the
regime.
